Parents Fearful of Sending Their Children to School During a Heat Wave
Ponda: Many parents in Ponda are afraid to send their children to school due to the extremely hot weather. They believe that it is not suitable for the students to attend classes in the scorching heat.
The temperature is still around 35 degrees Celsius, which is not ideal for the young students. The parents are requesting the government to postpone the reopening of schools and higher secondary education by one week.
They hope that by that time, the monsoon season will have arrived in Goa, providing relief from the heat.
The parents in Savoiverem are particularly tired of the heat wave and worry about their children’s ability to endure the hot classrooms.
They suggest waiting for one week before starting classes and ask the education department to consider delaying the beginning of the new academic year.
