Tourism getting back to normalcy in Goa soon

This has been announced by the  Tourism  Director Menino D’souza. The demarcation work has been started along the North Goa coast. Moreover, this process is likely to take about 10 – 15 days as been reported.

The Shacks are likely to be opened in November, which has come as a major relief to many business owners. Moreover, all of them have been waiting eagerly to resume the tourism in Goa which was however been stopped due to COVID Pandemic this year. However, Goa tourism has slowly been receiving a number of local tourists which are mostly the guests of the resorts.

Allocation of shacks under process in North Goa

Most importantly, the process of allotting the shacks is underway along the coastal belt of Candolim, Calangute, and Anjuna. And the shack owners are heaving a sigh of relief at least with this news.

On the other hand, the demarcation process in South Goa is yet to start. It has been known that the tourism department is short of manpower as reported.

The beach shacks owners are hoping to get their business get going by the first week of November. Meanwhile, they are also hoping that the upcoming festive season will increase the flow of tourists and help them to boost their sales.

Charter flights Not likely to begin

However, since the international flights are yet to function, the government of  Goa is now registering only domestic tourists.

Consequently, the charter flights bring in foreign tourists to Goa and the shack owners rely exclusively on these charter flights. But this year due to the pandemic still recovering, the government has announced to reduce the shack owners’ license fees by 50 percent.

In other words, the peak season begins from November to February wherein the charter flights run at peak. This year due to the Pandemic there is no hope of resumption of charter flights at least for the moment.
